Zuii LUX Certified Organic Makeup Range

Zuii Organic MakeupThis review is so overdue that I’m feeling a bit ashamed of keeping all this good stuff from you for such a long time! So today it’s all about Zuii LUX certified organic and vegan makeup range*.

I’ll start by saying that I’m no stranger to Zuii Organic and their products. The first one that I’ve ever tried was their Flora Liquid Foundation, which, despite fantastic feedback, left me a bit disappointed. Not a good start. Then I’ve tried the Flora Lip and Cheek Creme and their Brow Definer. These two, actually, turned out to be amazing. The Brow Definer is still one of my top choices when speaking about brow products. Anyway, enough with this rambling, and let’s get to the good part, the review, shall we?

The LUX range is a luxurious makeup range by Zuii. It was designed not only to care for your skin and protect it from the negative effects of air pollution but also give the best possible results makeup can provide. After all, we don’t apply red lipstick to save ourselves from free radicals. The LUX packaging really stands up to its name. Beautiful sleek black and gold bottles and jars are top-shelf worthy.

Zuii Organic Lux Certified Liquid FoundationsLUX Certified Organic Flora Luminescent Liquid Foundation 30ml / $49
I started the review with this liquid foundation for a reason. I want you to hear about it first-hand because it’s so awesome. If you’ve read some of my recent posts, then you know that I love my Madara CC Cream. But on the days when I want to look more made-up, I love using this Luminescent foundation instead of Madara. I’ll go as far as tell you that it’s as good as Juice Beauty Phyto Pigments Foundation, which I was (and still am) head over heels about.

This liquid foundation feels light and comfortable on the skin. It provides a radiant finish, which still seems natural. What I like the most about this foundation is that compared to some other alike foundations, this one stays in place very well. And even when it starts to disappear from the skin, it still looks good after a touch-up. The coverage is light – it softens redness or some other minor impurities.

LUX Certified Organic Flora Flawless Liquid Foundation 30ml / $49
Flora Flawless foundation is the second liquid foundation from the LUX range. This foundation is very different from the Luminescent Foundation. I’ve tried applying both of them at the same time on different sides of my face (FYI, I sometimes do this with lipsticks as well, and walk around the house. Yes, it’s fun to live with me 😀 ) and the difference is obvious. The Flawless Foundation is better at coverage (it’d say a solid medium) without making the skin cakey. Even me, who has a weird combination dry skin type, didn’t experience any dryness or cakey-ness with this one. I wouldn’t use this every day because I personally like a more natural look, but if you enjoy using a foundation with nice coverage, this is an excellent product for that.

Zuii Certified Organic Lux Flora Foundation SwatchesSome things that I’d like to mention separately about both liquid foundations is that a) you really need to use a small amount of them. They’re both pretty wet (though not watery), so let it sit for some time before continuing with other products (especially, with powder). b) in swatches (and IRL), the shade Ivory seems lighter for the Luminescent foundation, but there was no significant difference with both foundations blended side by side.

Zuii Certified Organic Flora Lux Finishing PowderCertified Organic Flora Lux Finishing Powder 7.5g / $42
Speaking of powder, I’ve also been testing this clear finishing powder from the same LUX range. I’m not big on finishing powders, I’ve been mostly using W3LL People Realist Setting Powder (good) or Lily Lolo or Everyday Minerals powder foundations for dry skin (also, good). The LUX finishing powder falls somewhere in the middle. I enjoy that it provides satin finish without fully mattifying my makeup, I can still see all this glow from my foundation peeking through. I can’t really comment on how it prolongs makeup because I don’t use it that regularly, but it definitely did help my makeup stay in place on some warmer days. Bonus points for adding REAL dried flowers to the jar with the foundation, sooo pretty <3

Zuii Certified Organic Flora Lux Lipsticks Glam CharmCertified Organic Flora Lux Lipsticks 4g / $35
The last product from the Lux range are the lippies. All 9 beautiful shades of them! The ones I have are called CHARM (warm brownish red; warm undertones) and GLAM (muted rosy plum; neutral undertones). Both are very different and beautiful choices.

Zuii Flora Lux Certified Organic Lipsticks SwatchesI really like the magnetic cap locking, which I believe makes the lipstick safer to carry around in your purse without fearing it would open and make a mess. Another thing that stands out is how well the lippies last considering they are really nourishing. Even after a few hours of drinking water, it mostly stayed in place (it faded a bit, of course, but didn’t make any mess as many rich-texture lipsticks do). They do require a precise application, though, but they stay comfortable on the lips for a while.

Im excited to try this! I have been looking for a healthier foundation that still gives coverage as the ones I have tried are all super-sheer.
