All Natural Armpit Care: Lavanila Deodorants + Kaia Underarm Bar

Recent Natural Deodorants

I’m definitely not too picky about body care products. As far as they go, I can forgive almost anything: weird texture, strong scents. But there’s one thing that I’m never going to compromise on – a deodorant. As someone who sweats quite a bit, this is the only product that must reach every criterion. I was (and still am) a massive fan of Schmidt’s natural deodorants, but I unexpectedly lost mine when traveling and couldn’t get one fast. And also I thought it was time to try something new. So, without further ado, this is my latest armpit care routine, so to speak (I’m giggling at this as I type).

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant Pure Vanilla

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla 56g/$12
Despite being an American brand, I actually got Lavanila in Canada, at Sephora. As much as I LOVE small organic beauty boutiques, I think that it’s the best thing that natural brands are available at mainstream convenience stores. I lost my deodorant and didn’t have much time to get to any of the green beauty stores Toronto had (I did that later), so I was glad that not only I had a choice of healthy option quickly, but it also turned out a great one!

First, the scent is fantastic! I’m not into scents that are too sweet (most vanilla scents are), but this one is sweet with some spicy twist. I also enjoy the texture. It’s definitely soft, but not too soft that I would need to stand in my bathroom for an hour with my hands up in the air in order not to stain my shirt. And the most important thing, it’s very effective. I feel like I’m writing this over and over, but I think it’s important to say that because it’s free from aluminum, it will not stop the sweating. Well, maybe a little because it contains some starch, but not completely. Instead, this deodorant kills bacteria and prevents odor, and does a wonderful job at this.

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant Sport Luxe

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant Sport Deluxe 63g/$14
A stronger version for your workouts or simply for those who tend to sweat more intensely. The first thing I noticed is its stronger scent, which is different from the Pure Vanilla Deodorant but is also lovely. This one feels more perfumy, but trust me, the ingredients are only natural in this one too. Also, its size is bigger than other Lavanila deodorants.

The texture and everything else is about the same as with the other Lavanila deodorant, except, this one, additionally contains baking soda. Overall, both of these deodorants are worth trying. They also have a few minis available if you’re not sure if you want to go for a full-size version.

Kaia Naturals The Underarm Bar

Kaia Naturals The Underarm Bar 125g/$25
I had to feature this product on the blog because I’ve never seen anything like it before. The Underarm Bar is like soap solely for your armpits (or feet, or any other body parts you think might need this, no judging), but with some extra ingredients, like activated charcoal, to keep them fresh and odor-free for longer by really getting rid of that bacteria. I know, right?

Although I can’t tell if it’s working yet, because I just started using it. However, I feel good knowing that I have some additional protection. Kaia Naturals also has a range of gentle natural deodorants (without baking soda). You can find my reviews here and here.

See the ingredients:

Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Olea Europaea (Olive Oil), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Pyrus Malus (Apple) Vinegar, Sodium Chloride (Sea Salt), Carbo Activatus (Activated Charcoal), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Camphor, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil. Vegan.
