Kiss My Face SPF40 Mineral Sunscreen

Kiss My Face Natural Mineral Water Resistant Sunscreen SPF40Ahhhh… summer! Such a beautiful time of the year. I hope you’re enjoying it a lot! Speaking about my beauty and skincare routine, because the weather where I live is beautiful and warm at the moment, I keep it as minimal as I can. However, I wanted to share my favorite item that I’m currently using with joy – Kiss My Face SPF40 Natural Mineral Sunscreen.

Despite the fact that you should keep your sunscreen close to you at all times no matter the season, summer is that time of the year when you need to be especially careful about reapplying the sunscreen as often as necessary to protect your skin. For me, a good sunscreen must be made with mineral filters, broad spectrum (UVA/UVB), and absorb well without making my skin covered in ghostly white cream. Also, preferably, moisturizing! I chose Kiss My Face SPF40 Mineral Sunscreen (88ml) because it ticks all these boxes and even more!

First and most important, it contains mineral filters (as you know, mineral filters reflect sun rays instead of absorbing them like chemical filters do) – titanium dioxide (6%) and zinc oxide (10%). Now, most sunscreens with mineral filters are a real pain to apply evenly and also tend to give the skin white cast. Kiss My Face promised to blend in clear, and it kept the promise. Despite being thick, it’s easy to apply and blend in even into dry skin. Also, it doesn’t flake or dry out the skin – so thumbs up for that, too. The scent is sweet, but not too intense. I also like the size of the tube (88 ml) because it’s travel-friendly.

The sunscreen has a good ingredient list, containing cucumber extract and green tea extract along with vitamins D, E, and C. The only thing I don’t like is Propylene Carbonate, which isn’t natural, but Deep Skin Database rates it as safe, so I’m not too worried about it.

See the ingredients:

Titanium Dioxide 6%, Zinc Oxide 10%, Water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Sodium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Like all sunscreen, you need to reapply it often, at least every two hours, and even more frequently if you have fair skin. You need to reapply it every 40 minutes after swimming, or if sweating a lot, however, I personally would reapply it right after contact with water, just in case.

What are your everyday summer essentials?

I’ve been meaning to try the Kiss My Face sunscreen. I recently started using the Honest sunscreen lotion and love it. Absolutely no scent and haven’t experienced the dreadful white cast.

I love it when products contain Green Tea as an ingredient – I must admit I put off using sun screen (especially as I live in the UK) but with my pasty vampire-like skin I really need to start using it more, even if it isn’t too warm outside.

I have just started a new organic beauty/lifestyle blog after being diagnosed with three long-term illnesses. I would loved it if you could have a look!
