Organic Body Creams For Cold Season

Winter Bodycare John Masters Organics and ThemisDon’t want to sound like a whiner, but winter is not my favorite season of the year. I like cozy evenings with a cup of hot chocolate, Christmas madness, and snow. But it also brings dark days and changes to my skincare and body care routine. Because of constantly changing temperatures and harsher weather conditions, it requires considerably more work. I try to keep it under control and here’s what I find the most useful to treat my currently dry and flaky skin:

Themis Moisturizing Body Cream (200 ml)
A heavy and rich cream for all skin types. It’s non-oily and highly absorbent, so you don’t need to worry about stickiness. The scent reminds me of mango, which makes sense because mango extract is the main ingredient in this body cream. It also contains sesame seed oil and buriti seed oil, both extremely rich in beta-carotene and vitamins E, C, and A.

See the ingredients:

Magnifera Indica (Mango) Extract, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Arachidyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidylglucoside, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Litsea Cubeba, Mauritia Flexuosa (Buriti) Seed Oil, Citral, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool. Certified by Ecocert and Cosmebio. Vegan.

John Masters Organics Cacao and Cupuacu Hand and Body Butter (118 ml)
Despite being called cream, this body butter is something between butter and oil. It comes out of a tube part liquid and part solid, which is nothing like I’ve ever tried before. It becomes fully liquid (or more like oil, I should say) when it gets warmth from the hands. The scent is very sweet and intense, smells like chocolate.

The size of the tube is 118 ml, which might seem like not much for a body cream, but I’ve been using it for a while, and little goes a long way with it. It doesn’t sink in so fast like Themis does, but it sure is much more moisturizing. I like using it after evening shower or when I feel like my skin is going to crack from dryness.

See the ingredients:

Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil,* Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter,* Beeswax,* Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter,* Borago Officinalis Seed Oil,* Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil,* Linum Usitatissimum (Flaxseed) Seed Oil,* Rosa Moschata Seed Oil,* Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuacu) Seed Butter,* Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Seed Oil,* Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil*. *Certified organic. Certified by USDA.
