John Masters Organics Bare Unscented Detangler | Review

John Masters Organics Bare Unscented DetanglerJohn Masters Organics has many organic skincare and haircare products in its range, however, from my point of view, its hair detanglers are probably the champions. It’s a shame that I don’t get along with John Masters Organics shampoos (except maybe Honey & Hibiscus Reconstructing Shampoo), but hair conditioners is entirely another story.

There are three hair detanglers in the haircare range: Citrus & Neroli, Rosemary & Peppermint, and Bare Unscented. I am a long-time fan of the last two detanglers and have already lost count of how many bottles of these products I’ve finished. Citrus & Neroli is the one from this bunch that I am not very keen on, mainly because of its scent. However, it works just as good as the other two and is favorited by many people.

See the ingredients:

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Leaf Juice) Gel,* Aqua (Water), Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Sorbitol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil,* Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil,* Hyaluronic Acid, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil,* Sulfur, Linum Usitatissimum (Flaxseed) Seed Oil,* Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil,* Soy Lecithin, Soy Tocopherols, Citric Acid, Arnica Montana (Arnica) Flower Extract,* Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract,* Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract,* Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract,* Equisetum Hiemale (Horsetail) Leaf/Stem Extract,* Foeniculum Vulgare (Fennel) Seed Extract,* Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate. * Certified Organic. Vegan.

The Bare detangler comes out as heavy and rich cream. It includes healing plant extracts (chamomile, calendula, white tea leaf, and arnica) for hair protection and hyaluronic acid for hydration. All John Masters detanglers, as well as this one, can be used as rinse-out or as leave-in conditioners. I also like mixing it with a few drops of rosemary or lavender essential oils and leaving for 20 or 30 minutes as a hair mask before rinsing it out. It works fantastic! I recommend it to anybody with dry, frizzy hair and for those whose hair lacks moisture.

The Bare Detangler (236 ml) is available online at John Masters (US), Love Lula (UK and rest of Europe), Feelunique for $23/£15.

Have you tried John Masters Organics detanglers? Which one’s your favorite?

I’m intrigued! I haven’t tried many John Masters products but this is something I’d be interested in trying on my dry hair. Great post! 🙂

I can’t remember which scent I tried, probably the Citrus & Neroli one but I love it! I have a sample size and don’t use it anywhere near enough…I have way too many products at the minute I really do need to go through my stash aha! The unscented sounds lovely too though!
