Gallinée Natural Probiotic Skincare Review

Gallinee-Natural-Probiotic-Skincare-1xWe all know that taking probiotics orally is favorable to our gut, and a happy gut leads to healthy skin. However, some studies have shown that topical skincare infused with probiotics might be beneficial to our skin as well. According to these studies, probiotics, especially those from the Lactobacillus family, help strengthen the skin’s microbiome and soothe the skin. That’s because this “good bacteria” is already present on our skin, helping it fight infection, regulate ph levels, and keep it in an overall good condition. So, boosting our good bacteria levels with probiotics is supposed to relieve it of dryness, sensitivity (such as eczema) and make it healthy and happy.

There are a few natural beauty brands offering probiotic skincare out there, I’ve tried a few, and some of these products are really good. However, Gallinée is the only one I know which focuses not only on probiotics (the good bacteria) but as well as prebiotics (which is food for the good bacteria) and postbiotics (produce of the good bacteria, such as lactic acid), making their products even more effective. I talked a little about their Body Milk here, so now let’s see if their skincare products will live up to their promises.

Gallinee-Probiotic-Natural-Foam-Cleanser-1xI am a massive fan of foaming cleansers, so I was very intrigued to try this Gallinee Foaming Facial Cleanser*. Most foam cleansers leave the skin feeling squeaky clean and sometimes even dehydrated, but this baby cleanses the skin extremely gently. The foam feels light and cream and lathers well, cleaning the skin from makeup and impurities. Speaking about the scent, I absolutely adore it! However, it concerns me that it’s pretty strong and the perfume might be too intense for those with sensitive skin. Other than that, it’s an absolutely wonderful product!

Gallinee-Natural-Probiotic-Hydrating-Face-Cream-2xAfter cleansing my face, I usually use my serums and then follow with this Hydrating Face Cream*. The cream comes in a tiny 30ml tube, which is amazing because I am not a fan of oversized jars and tubes. Oh, by the way, did you notice how cute that packaging design is? The scent is said to be gingerbread, but I honestly feel like it’s more of licorice; however, it’s not at all overpowering or unpleasant.

Made with a triple biotic complex (meaning probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics), this cream is formulated to suit all skin types, especially sensitive skin. These “one product fits all” claims always seem scary to me, and most of the time, rightfully so because the product fits normal (or in some cases, oily) skin type, but not dry skin. However, after reading some reviews, I decided to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. The cream itself is light and creamy, it sinks into the skin easily, but my favorite part is that it is HYDRATING. Even if you have oily skin, I feel you’d benefit from this hydrating cream, especially during the winter season. I can’t yet say if the cream has improved my skin, but I love using it since it definitely gives my skin a needed daily boost of hydration.

Gallinee-Probiotic-Face-Mask-Scrub-1xGallinée Face Mask & Scrub* is what it says it is – a purifying, skin cleansing face mask and a gently exfoliating scrub combined together in one tube. Again, the scent is exactly the same as the cleanser’s and is too strong for my liking. You have to keep the mask on for 5 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Despite having pellets that help to scrub the skin, the product is extremely gentle. Just pat your skin instead of rubbing the product off, and even if you have the most sensitive skin, you will most likely be fine. It leaves the skin feeling so soft and lovely, I can’t even begin to tell you.
