Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation Ivory 02

Lavera Liquid Foundation SwatchesI’m constantly on the search for the best organic foundation, so I was happy to get my hands on this Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation. Its tagline describes it as a hydrating foundation that blends easily and hides imperfections, creating a porcelain-smooth canvas. Sounds great, but is it true?

There are six shades in the range: I ordered a few samples of 02 Ivory Nude and used them for a few days before posting this review.

A bottle of the Lavera Liquid Foundation holds 30 ml of foundation and comes with a pump dispenser. I love pump dispensers, and I wish all liquid products would have one. Lavera foundation is very runny, and that makes it easy to apply. The shade 02 Ivory is a light/medium neutral beige. I am quite pale so 01 Ivory Light would be a better match for my skin tone.

See the ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Alcohol*, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*, Myristyl Myristate, Lauryl Laurate, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Fragrance (Parfum)**, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cetyl Alcohol, Lauroyl Lysine, Silica, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract*, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract*, Cichorium Intybus (Chicory) Root Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract*, Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract*, Tilia Cordata Flower Extract*, Tricaprylin, Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Glucose Glutamate, Xanthan Gum, Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Mica (CI 77019), Dehydroxanthan Gum, Algin, Vegetable Oil (Olus Oil), Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Iron Oxide (CI 77499), Tocopherol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Magnesium Gluconate, Maltose, Algae, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Sterols, Lecithin, Lysolecithin, Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Limonene**, Benzyl Salicylate**, Linalool**, Geraniol**, Citral**, Citronellol**, Benzyl Benzoate**, Benzyl Alcohol** * Ingredients from Certified Organic Agriculture ** Natural Essential Oils. BDIH and NaTrue Certified. Vegan.

The Liquid Foundation offers a sheer light coverage. It does even out the skin but doesn’t cover major imperfection, so a concealer is a must with this foundation. I was pleasantly surprised that it felt comfortable and didn’t dry out the skin or clung to dry patches. However, it started disappearing from my face after a few hours of wearing it so I won’t be repurchasing full size because of that.

This liquid foundation is available online at Lavera (US) and Big Green Smile (UK/rest of Europe) for $25/£12.90.

Have you tried this foundation? Did you like it?

Awesome! I have oily skin too. I am looking for a natural primer to use, right now, I haven’t found a good one because those help so much with keeping the foundation on/lasting. I recently started putting cornstarch in an old mineral powder container and brushing it on with a kabuki brush here and there when I get oily and that has been helping. A make up artist taught me that!
