I’d never call myself a blush addict, but my makeup stash tells another story: I’ve counted 8 this morning! The thing with blushes is that even though I use them almost everyday, they last ages and, therefore, are hard to optimize. My favorite type of blush is cream blush. The cream blush obsession has started with Delizioso cream blush a while ago, before that, I actually wouldn’t even look at cream blushes as they seemed too much work. Oh how wrong was I!
KJAER WEIS CREAM BLUSH* 3.5ml / $56 – £40
I’m just going cut to the chase and state the obvious – Kjaer Weis blushes are gorgeous. Starting with the packaging, all blushes come in modern silver flip cases with an inside mirror (handy!). It did surprise me that the cases are pretty heavy, but I love that they’re made not from plastic, but zamac, which means they’re super long-lasting.
Kjaer Weis blush range has a variety of shades suitable for every skin tone and every occasion. The shade I have is called HAPPY and is described as “exuberant, bright pink”. HAPPY is also the most pigmented color out of all Kjaer Weis blushes. It’s the most beautiful cool / neutral pink blush that would look lovely on all skin tones: fair, light, medium, dark.. you name it! The consistency of this blush is creamy and wet, which makes it easy to apply and prevents streaking. The best thing about cream blushes is their easy application and texture that’s buildable. A tiny amount of this blush goes a really long way, so it’s important not to over-do. I use my fingers to apply and blend the blush in, this way it’s easier to control how much you’re applying. You can also use a kabuki brush for additional blending. It blends in perfectly well and gives a semi-matte, satin finish making your cheeks look naturally flushed.
The blush is very nourishing and doesn’t cling to dry patches. I always thought that because of their consistency cream blushers don’t last as long as, for example, powder blushers, but that’s not true. This Kjaer Weis blush lasts me good 8 hours without fading.
Kjaer Weis is definitely a luxury brand with luxury prices and it might not be easy to part with $56 for a blush. However, the brand offers luxury quality as well, so if you want to indulge yourself with a stunning new beauty product that works, I recommend it above and beyond. I also would like to mention the fact that all Kjaer Weis products are refillable, so if you don’t care much for a pretty packaging, you can just skip to Kjaer Weis product refills.
