INIKA Baked Mineral Illuminisor

Inika Baked Mineral IlluminisorA radiant skin has always been one of my ultimate beauty goals. Though I mostly try to achieve it by obtaining healthy lifestyle habits and choosing natural skincare, makeup is also helpful. This Inika Baked Mineral Illuminisor* from Love Lula is one of my recent glow enhancing tools.

Inika Baked Vegan Mineral HighlighterThe Baked Mineral Illuminisor is described as a versatile highlighter. Which means it can be worn with foundation, bronzer, blush or alone to add some subtle glow to your makeup look. Although it has mixed reviews online, I liked the sound of it and was tempted to try it myself. I’ve tried a few of INIKA makeup products before, so I was somehow certain it won’t disappoint.

Inika Natural Baked Mineral HighlighterThe highlighter comes in a luxurious black and gold case with a mirror. It’s the kind of packaging that asks to be showcased at the most visible place of your makeup vanity (not that I have one, but I wish I would!). It is a baked mineral highlighter, which means liquid or cream powder has been baked slowly on a terracotta tile in Italy until it became dry. You won’t find many extracts or oils in this product, but all ingredients are vegan.

See the ingredients:

Mica, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Octyldodecanol, Hectorite, Squalane, Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract, Lauroyl Lysine, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Potassium Sorbate, Aqua, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). Vegan.

Baked cosmetics (like powders, highlighters, blushes) usually have a soft texture and a pigmented finish. The texture of the Baked Mineral Illuminisor is not that soft and more powdery than I’ve expected. However, it’s pigmented enough to create a visible effect with few brush swipes. It provides a rose gold finish, which translates beautifully on the skin. If you want to use it for your everyday makeup, you can. However, you need to use it sparingly, otherwise, you might end up with visible glitter. Also, it is the kind of highlighter that would look absolutely stunning on a special occasion or a night out.

Inika Organic Mineral Baked HighlighterOverall, I’d say this is definitely a fancy item to have. But if you’re looking for a highlighter that would add some serious sheen to your cheeks, this is what you might like.

Available at Love Lula for approx. $45 -£33 for 8g (which is the amount that you’ll probably use for the rest of your life).

I really like RMS Beauty’s Living Luminizer, such an unique product, but I’m all for the highlighter in my Lily Lolo Sculpt & Glow duo, I’m using it on a daily basis and just can’t get enough of it. Soon I’ll get my hand on this INIKA Beauty as well, I can’t wait to try!
