Have you heard of Éminence before? It’s an Hungarian organic skincare brand with products sold all around the world. I first learned about it on Nicole’s blog Live It, Love It, Green It and it went to my “I need to try this” list right away. Éminence truly stands out from many green beauty brands with their products looking so delicious they can easily be mistaken for a real dessert. However, with the product ingredient lists pure and organic, it is a real treat, just for your skin.
The Calm Skin Starter Set promises to balance and calm even the most sensitive skin. The Set contains 4 products for a full one-month skincare regime:
- Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser (1oz / 30 ml tube)
- Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturizer (0.5oz / 15 ml tube)
- Calm Skin Arnica Masque (0.5oz / 15 ml jar)
- Calm Skin Arnica Booster-Serum (0.5oz / 15 ml bottle)
Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser and Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturizer
These two products come in a similar packaging: slim and simple tubes. The packaging is also very convenient for traveling, since the tubes fit perfectly well in a permitted on-board cosmetics bag and do not take up much space. Because this line has been created for sensitive skin, both products have the same gentle chamomile scent. Actually, Éminence claims to be fragrance-free for all of its products and only uses gentle essential oils to add scents and colors.
Chamomile Cleanser is a cream cleanser, that, to my surprise, is pretty intense at cleansing the skin. It’s not very thick, which makes it easy to spread all over the face and to wash off. Éminence recommends using a cloth to remove the cleanser from the face, however, I find it easy to remove with just water. Good news – it’s absolutely perfect in removing makeup. I did not have panda eyes when using this cleanser and it did not irritate my eyes.
Chamomile Moisturizer has almost the same consistency as the cleanser. I had expected it to be rich, but it’s pretty lightweight and is more suitable for normal/combination sensitive skin types. I’d like to highlight two key ingredients – marigold and arnica, since both of these plants are well known for their super beneficial powers in treating, strengthening and calming sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
Chamomile Cleanser ingredients: Calendula Oil, Corn Germ Oil, Sunflower Oil, Ivy Extract, Witch Hazel Extract, Arnica Extract, Hops Extract, Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, Grape Leaf Extract, Chamomile Tea, Rosemary, Vegetable Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Lactic Acid, Biocomplex (Vitamin A, Vitamin C Ester, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid), Xanthan Gum, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Lemon Oil.

Calm Skin Arnica Booster-Serum
Made of natural and organic plant ingredients, including:
- rejuvenating rosehip extract
- cooling and balancing peppermint tea
- calming and healing arnica
- calming and protective panthenol
The serum looks like a gel in a bottle, but once applied on the skin it feels very watery and does not have any stickiness to it. A pea size amount is more than enough for my whole face + neck. I loooove how the serum feels – like a wave of peppermint – soothing and hydrating. It gives my skin a little tingle, but that’s peppermint tea boosting blood flow and soothing blood vessels.
Arnica Booster Serum ingredients: Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Tea, Hedera Helix (Ivy) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Arnica Montana (Arnica) Flower Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Leaf Extract, Vegetable Glycerin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Extract, Panthenol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Extract, Lactic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Salicylate, Vegetable Squalane, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), Citric Acid, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil.
Calm Skin Arnica Masque
Comes in a travel-size jar. Like the rest of the line, this mask was formulated with sensitive skin in mind and contains similar healing and calming ingredients. In addition, it contains gentle white clay for additional cleansing. You’re supposed to leave the mask on your face for 5-10 minutes, but if your skin isn’t irritated and reactive, you can extend the time for 15 minutes. You’ll immediately feel the cooling and calming effect. Then simply wash the mask off or remove with a warm wet cloth. It makes my skin less tense and more soothed and even. I’m planning on taking it on holiday with me, because flights dehydrate and exhaust my skin, so this mask will definitely be my number one weapon in making the skin fresh and calm again.
Arnica Mask ingredients: Marigold Oil, Corn Germ Oil, Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Ivy, Witch Hazel, Arnica Flower, St. John’s Wort, Aesculus Hippocastanum (horse Chestnut), Grape Leaf, Kaolin Clay, Linseed, Xanthan Gum, Vegetable Squalane, Ubiquinone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Soybean Oil, Cypress Oil, Balm Mint Oil, Chamomile Oil, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid.
