Elate Universal Creme in Love

Elate Organic Universal CremeI discovered Canadian vegan beauty brand Elate Clean Cosmetics when I received its product in one of Petit Vour subscription boxes (can’t remember which one it was). The product was called The Universal Creme for lips and cheeks, and it instantly caught my attention. It is a multi-tasking makeup product, which can be used as a blush, as a lip tint or, depending on the shade you own, even as an eyeshadow. The one I’ve got is called Love, which is a neutral medium pink shade – a real stunner and a total match for my skin tone. There are 6 other shades available in the Universal Creme range, so everyone will find a suitable shade for them.

The Universal Creme comes in a biodegradable tube made from paper. I like the design and functionality of the packaging with one exception – to get the product out, you need to push at the bottom of the tube, which would not be a big deal. But once it’s out, the only way to get it back inside is to press the top of the Creme back using your fingers. Not the most hygienic way, and also might stain your fingers.

See the ingredients:

Triglyceride, Cold Pressed Organic Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Olivem 1000, Emulsifying Wax, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Silica, Boron Nitride, Bambusa Arundinacea (Bamboo) Stem Extract, Iron Oxides, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Shell Powder, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Shell Extract, Carrot Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil. Vegan.

As a blush: because it has a creamy consistency, the creme glides on effortlessly from the tube and is easy to even out with fingers. I don’t need to use any brush with this blusher. It gives me very natural looking flushed cheeks with a subtle glow. As a blush, it has an average longevity.

As a lip tint: my lips are probably too dry to use this product as a lip tint. It gives a soft pearly pink finish, but my lips look somehow dried out.

Elate Universal Creme sticks are available online at Elate or Petit Vour in 8g for $20/£16.

I’ve only recently heard of Elate Beauty Cosmetics and they do sound really nice! Such a bummer about the tube needing to be pushed back in with your fingers after using it… I’m sure it’s not a big deal but it would make it much harder to use when you’re on the go (commuting or something!) Otherwise it sounds like a fairly decent product. I definitely need to check that brand out!

Thanks so much for sharing 🙂

Yes! I would definitely like it more if it would be a twist-up, but it’s a nice product still 🙂
