If you follow me on social media, then you probably know that my silence was caused by the flu that I’ve been fighting for over a week. I’m still quite weak and continuing to combine hot herbal teas with short day naps to restore my strength. However, I’m not here to complain about my health, I want to share about a new brand that I’ve been trying out over the last couple of weeks. It’s called Brittanie’s Thyme, and it presents itself as a women-owned USDA-certified organic personal care products company. Brittanie’s Thyme is also vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, and cruelty-free. Here are some freshly made products from its lovely skincare range:
Organic Citrus Facial Cleanser* (118ml for $15)
This soap-free and naturally hydrating face cleanser comes in a dark glass bottle with a pump and is made with certified oils, extracts, and aloe leaf juice as the main ingredient. It has a citrus/rosemary scent, which, most likely, won’t bother you even if you don’t like citrus scents because it’s so gentle. As promised, the cleanser’s very nourishing, and my skin feels nice and clean after using it. The only downside (for me) is that the cleanser doesn’t remove mascara well, so I have to use an eye makeup remover prior washing my face.
Organic Balancing Facial Toner* (118ml for $13)
Just three words: I LOVE IT! It’s refreshing, balancing, and my skin seems healthy after using it. It doesn’t contain any alcohol, but instead has goodies like witch hazel distillate and peppermint, sweet orange and rose flower oils. Like other Brittanie’s Thyme skincare products, this toner also comes in a dark glass bottle. I wish the toner would come in a spray bottle, but it’s not that big of a disadvantage. The toner has a very strong peppermint scent. It’s recommended for normal/troubled skin, but I think any skin type would benefit from this product.
Organic Everyday Facial Moisturizer* (59ml for $20)
Made with shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and other nourishing ingredients, this Facial Moisturizer is described as a naturally hypo-allergenic, non-clogging moisturizer with natural emollients for a soft satiny skin. Despite its rich ingredients, it feels surprisingly light. It’s recommended for normal, sensitive skin, and my dry, sensitive skin absorbs it too quickly and then demands more. So I’d say it’s more suitable if you have a normal, combination skin.
Organic Peppermint Lip Scrub* (discontinued)
There’s always a place for a lip scrub in my skincare routine! I mostly use DIY sugar scrubs I make myself. They are plain and simple without any essential oils. So it was a nice change to try out this hand made lip scrub with peppermint. I like that it contains gentle pellets and gives a cooling and refreshing feeling.
Organic Lip Cream* (discontinued)
A liquid lip balm or so-called “lip cream”. If you’re looking for an intense lip moisturizer, I recommend trying this one, if you have a chance. The one I have is with peppermint oil, but if you’re not too keen on peppermint, there are vanilla or unscented lip creams available. The Lip Cream nourishes the lips and makes them soft.
