Love testing out new, unheard of natural beauty brands and the most recent that I’ve been trying is Beauty By Earth – a fast-growing, US-based beauty company with “natural beauty products that work”. You know, time spent as a blogger has thought me a lot about taking slogans carefully, but this time, I agree 100%.
Clear Complexion Hydrating Face Mask* 120ml / $18.99
If there’s one product, which has been saving my skin from dryness and dullness, it’s this mask. Named as Beauty By Earth’s top-seller, this Clear Complexion Hydrating Face Mask lives up to its promises and, I must say, even tops them.
The packaging of this mask looks pretty modest, but, if I remember correctly, it has been updated recently to a more modern version. The consistency of the mask is very rich and creamy, which makes it easy to spread on the skin. Because it’s a clay mask (with kaolin and bentonite clay as main ingredients), it tends to dry quickly, so I like applying a much thicker layer of it rather than a thin layer. This way, I don’t need to constantly spray my face with water in order to avoid the mask drying out.
This mask stands out from many other natural clay masks for two reasons. First of all, it feels very cooling. Not tingly, but pleasantly refreshing with a cooling sensation. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all, there’s not even a tiny bit of redness after using this facial mask. On the contrary, my skin looks lovely – the pores are reduced, my skin looks brighter and more even. The second thing that I noticed and loved, this mask does wonders in cleansing the skin without dehydrating it – I do have some clogged pores, so even after the first use many of blackheads were removed or in the process of elimination and my skin stayed soft.
I can not think one thing that I didn’t like about this mask, maybe except the fact there are no ingredient lists beside all products on Beauty By Earth website. This makes difficult for people to spot if a product they want to purchase is safe for them, i.e. does not contain any ingredients they are allergic to or just trying to avoid. Other than that, this is hands down one of the best face masks I’ve tried.
Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice Extract, Kaolin, Bentonite Clay, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Algae Extract, Organic Cucumber Extract, Organic Calendula Extract, Caprylic Acid, Lauric Acid, Propanediol, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum.
Facial Toner with Witch Hazel and Rose Petal Water* 120ml / $21.99
Since a lot of brands use organic alcohol, made from wheat, as a preservative, sometimes it can be hard to find products that would contain none of it. I know that many of you try to avoid alcohol as an ingredient in skincare and beauty products, so I’m happy to review this alcohol-free face tonic for you.
This calming and hydrating toner with a mild rose scent (which comes from rose flower water) is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. I don’t like spraying strongly scented products on my face, so it is perfect for me. The toner promises a cooling sensation, but I didn’t feel anything like it. However, it does make my skin feel comfortable, hydrated and soft even after it sinks in.
Ingredients: Water, Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Water, Organic Cunumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Citric Acid.
