My Most Used Summer Skin & Body Products Lately

Organic Skin and Body Picks JulyThis summer is just crazy with one hot day following another, an even hotter, day without any remorse. As much as I enjoy sunny weather, I hope this heatwave is going to end soon because I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to hide from it! Anyway, because it’s been so hot lately, my beauty routine was narrowed down to only essentials: sunscreen, hydrating sheet masks, heavy-duty body moisturizers, and just basic makeup. I thought it would be fun to compile a quick list of recent must-haves I can’t be without.

Madara SUN30 Plant Stem Cell Antioxidant Sunscreen (100ml)*
Sunscreen is what I apply on my face every day without fail. For the past two years or so, it became ingrained into my skincare routine. This Madara Antioxidant Sunscreen provides a broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection (mineral-based, which is very important), translucent finish (also important! No one wants to look like a ghost after sunscreen application), and skin-restoring ingredients (haven’t noticed, but it’s good to know). It’s a sunscreen formulated for body and face. Though, I mostly use this for my face and my other favorite Juice Beauty Sport body sunscreen for the rest of my body.

Madara City CC Hyaluronic CC Cream (30ml)
This month’s been a pretty minimal makeup month, meaning this CC Cream and my mascara are potentially the only makeup products I’ve been wearing lately. This CC Cream isn’t a new product for me, I’m on my 5th tube and I can’t believe I still don’t have a separate review for this amazing product. I think I’ll have to fix this mistake soon.

ECO by Sonya Winter Skin Gradual Tanning Moisturizer (100ml)*
Now you are probably thinking: “Inga, we’re the middle of summer, for Pete’s sake! Why on Earth do you need a tanning lotion in July?” It’s straightforward as to why: I try to avoid the sun as much as possible, covering up my body in all ways possible or lurking in the shadows during the hottest hours. I do this because my skin is fair, so I sunburn very quickly (and painfully) sometimes even with sunscreen. However, unavoidably, my face and my hands get some tan during the summer when my legs do not. So when I wear shorts, my legs look very funny being three shades lighter than the rest of my body. I’m not complaining, though, but I thought an explanation was needed. So sometimes I use my lovely Winter Skin, and since it gives only a light tan, it looks natural. I have the whole review about it here.

I currently have two body creams, and both of them are revealed in this post. The first one is Dr. Botanicals LM Lemon Superfood AIO Rescue Butter (50ml)*, which bewitched me with its zesty lemon scent. All-in-one creams and butter are frequent guests in my skincare routine, but this Rescue Butter is one of a few I’m happy to recommend. It’s rare that such a product isn’t sticky or greasy, but at the same time works well on any dry areas. Another body product is Gallinee Body Milk (200ml)* for dry or atopic-prone skin. I use this almost every day, but tbh I’m not really into it. Mostly because of the scent, which feels very perfumy and intense. I’d say it’s an OK body cream, good at hydrating the skin and all, but the second bottle is not going to happen.

That’s all for now. All products mentioned in this post are available at Love Lula (some of them are from their monthly beauty box, which is pretty awesome if you’d ask me) or at any other place that you can get your hands on them if you’re interested in trying any.
